Little Coasties Kindergarten prepares children for life through the foundation of relationships, delivered in a caring, educational environment. Our team of professional, dedicated educators support children to explore what the world has to offer.
What we believe
It takes a village
to raise a child.
At Little Coasties Kindergarten we firmly believe it takes a village to raise a child. Because of this we highly value secure, reciprocal relationships within our team, our families, and the wider community, working in partnership and respecting each other’s knowledge and life experiences.
Our pedagogical teachings follow the principles and practices of the Australian National Early Years Learning Framework.
We are committed to the ECA Code of Ethics for education, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, and the National Child Safe Standards, ensuring a safe, secure environment for everyone who steps through our door.

How we achieve this
For our children.
By learning who the child is and their capabilities, we scaffold their learning. The foundations of our curriculum begin with play, based on each child's interests, strengths, and developmental needs — intentionally teaching skills and concepts that inspire a lifetime of learning.
We recognise and celebrate the individuality of each and every child. We empower children to recognise their sense of agency, self-worth, and ability to direct their own learning.
Each child needs to feel safe, secure, and supported. We provide a safe and inspiring environment where children are motivated to learn, explore, discover, and experiment.
We provide a learning program inclusive of all, with equity — regardless of age, ability, culture, or life experiences.
We promote a healthy lifestyle through a nutritious menu, approved by Central Coast Local Health District guidelines.
We foster opportunities for movement and physical wellbeing through a flexible routine for outdoor play.
We scaffold the children's social exploration, helping them grow into collaborative, compassionate contributors to society, aware of other perspectives.

We value the impact families have in their child's life, and place great value on the relationships we share with our families.
We recognise that parents are the first and most important teachers in a child's life. Open communication and parent involvement are viewed as a valuable asset within Little Coasties and its learning curriculum.
We strive to develop a partnership between families, educators, and management — built on open, honest communication and mutual respect.
We embrace the individual cultures reflective of our service, celebrating the differences and uniqueness that families bring to Little Coasties.
We connect with surrounding schools to provide a successful transition to school, in conjunction with our school readiness program. We invite the community to visit us and share their skills and diversity within our program.
We intentionally teach children about the importance and benefit of involvement in their surrounding community, and the ways they can participate.
Little Coasties Kindergarten operates within the basic Christian values of love, trust, and respectful relationships.
As active and responsible members of the world we live in, we connect and engage with various organisations so children can develop relationships with the wider community.

We invite educators to lead, regardless of their level of training, acknowledging the diverse strengths that life experience brings — so every educator can share their unique knowledge, skills, and teaching opportunities.
