Privacy policy
Who we are
Little Coasties Kindergarten is an independently owned early-childhood centre in Green Point, Central Coast NSW. If you have any questions about this policy or about information we hold about you, contact us at [email protected] or on 02 4369 2991.
What this policy covers
This policy applies to the information collected through this website at littlecoasties.com. Information families share with us in person, by phone, or through our enrolment paperwork is handled under the centre's own policies and the Education and Care Services National Law — not this page.
What we collect through this website
- Information you give us through the contact form: your name, email address, phone number, the reason for your enquiry, how you heard about us, and your message. If you're asking about enrolment, the form also collects your child's name, age, gender, a preferred start date, and the days you'd like them to attend. These details are stored in our database and emailed to our staff so we can respond.
- Standard request information our hosting and content-delivery provider logs automatically: IP address, browser user-agent, and a timestamp. This is used to keep the site online and to protect it from abuse.
- Nothing else. The site does not run analytics, advertising trackers, or first-party cookies.
How the contact form works
When you send the contact form, a small Cloudflare Worker running on Cloudflare's network processes your submission. It does two things: it saves the details to a secure Cloudflare D1 database so we have a reliable record of your enquiry, and it emails a copy to our staff so we can reply. That email is delivered through DuoCircle, our email provider, who send it on our behalf. Cloudflare and DuoCircle act as processors for us; their handling of that traffic is covered by the Cloudflare Privacy Policy and the DuoCircle Privacy Policy.
Spam protection
To stop bots from filling the contact form, we use Cloudflare Turnstile. Turnstile looks at a handful of privacy-preserving browser signals to decide whether a submission is likely from a human, and may set a short-lived token in your browser while it does so. It is designed as an alternative to traditional CAPTCHAs and does not track you across other sites. You can read Cloudflare's notes on it at cloudflare.com/turnstile.
How we use enquiry information
We use the details you send us to reply to your enquiry and, if you've asked us to, to follow up about tours or enrolment. We don't sell your information and we don't share it with third parties for marketing.
How long we keep it
Submissions stored in our database, and the enquiry emails in our inbox, are kept for as long as we reasonably need to respond and follow up, after which they are deleted or archived. Server and CDN logs are kept by Cloudflare under their standard retention.
Information about children
If you're enquiring about enrolment, the form asks for a few basic details about your child — their name, age, and gender — so we can point you to the right group. Please don't include sensitive details (such as medical, behavioural, or developmental information) in the form — those belong in the formal enrolment process, where we can look after them properly.
Your rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
Complaints
If you're not satisfied with how we've handled your information, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the website handles information, we'll update this page and the “last updated” date at the top of it.
